Food by itself is medicine ... A south indian restaurant...
This blog is NOT A GENERATED one. :).. It's on my own words, sharing my experience...
My dear social friends, brothers and sisters ...
I trust everyone is doing well.. Life in USA is getting busier and busier, which is good. Helping customers, partners and colleagues wherever possible, and making a positive impact…
In this blog, I am going to share my recent dining experience in a South Indian Vegetarian restaurant in Chennai.
Guess the dishes in below picture.. I bet you to find the first 3 items... :)
OK, here we go....
I recently visited Chennai, India, to renew my visa. Once done with my visa related work, decided to visit a famous vegetarian restaurant called “Annalakshmi”. I will share the link at the end...
What prompted to go there? – I have heard this restaurant name from many of my Chennai colleagues, friends etc, and they talked very high about unique dining experience here. Finally, I was able to make it.
Before going there, please make sure that your ready for a big feast. , i.e. a very light breakfast and pick the 12 noon slot.
Please look at below picture...
The setup itself is quite different. It gives enough privacy for our group or family. Very pleasing, and very well-maintained ambience... You could feel the divine setup... Of course, this is pure VEGETARIAN restaurant...
Coming to the food:
They serve in an unique order and flow.. It kept coming. The staff explained everything in detail, the ingredients and how they made. They gave ample time for every dish to be finished, with perfect quantity.
Here is an image from just one set of courses. I guess they served around 5+courses. I lost count after 5 batches .:)
Almost they served all vegetable types with every possible unique dish. As I said, they taste was extremely good.
Now, why food by itself is medicine: Every dish they served had medicine qualities. They kept explaining about the medicinal qualities of each dish, and their ingredients. This was amazing!
They never forced us to complete the course, since each batch is given only 2 hours time. I could see that, every family or team having good time over there and enjoying the food. Everyone was researching about medicine qualities of dishes. :)
Now, coming to the first question: Guess the dishes in above picture: Here you go:
- Neem Flower fries
- Sun berries (Manathakkali) curry
- Turkey berries (Sundakkai vathal) fries
- Ghee
- Dal powder
- Okra (ladyfinger) & Yogurt curry
I never heard of neem flower fries. Looks like it has very good medicine benefits. Even sun berries and turkey berries have good medicine qualities. In the restaurant, they explained that our ancestors used these regularly in every day's food and lived healthy. There were many such dishes, they explained and served. ) - Food by itself is medicine....
See you all in the next blog.... Take care...
