RED to Green - Is it possible?

 Hi Everyone --

Hope you are doing OK and staying safe. Covid 2nd phase is hitting us badly. Please take care of yourself, family, relatives, friends and society.

 In this blog, I am going to share a different experience.  RED to GREEN - What is that?. Let me explain in details.

We have a small portion of an empty land very close to our hometown. i.e. just at the north border. It is completely empty land with red soil.  My dad was recommending, to construct few one bed room houses in that area so that we get some rental income. I said, NO, let me make that an agricultural area, and start producing something to local people from that land and produce more shadow area, more oxygen to society. He said, your wish, good luck and he agreed to support me. That's when I decided to convert the RED soil area into GREEN area. How?...

During my last year end break in December, I did clean the land using tractors and did basic ground work. Pictures are shown below. Tractor in action.. :)

 

Below picture was taken, after land was cleaned and ready for cultivation. It was pure RED :)...  If you walk in this RED land, with barefoot or touch with your hands, believe me, it takes two days for your hands or legs to come to normal color from RED. We could challenge Surf-Excel or RIN.  :)

Once land was ready, I decided to plant little bit of bananas and drumstick trees. Banana gives lots of freshness and happiness. Drumstick needs less watering.  In below picture, you can see, I have planted drumstick trees. You will hardly see GREEN, since it is still RED dominant.

To make things more interesting, it is always good to have short-term yielding crops. In between drumstick and bananas, I also planted water-melons, cucumbers, and snake-guards. Below picture is from a 3 month old water melon tree.  We have already taken few melons from this land. :)... Can you believe the happiness?

Here is the picture as of last week. Both are growing OK... You can see the GREEN now... It is still very very less, 4 months old, but I am positive and make the land GREEN land and produce more Oxygen, in natural way. :)

I am yet to plant big trees. i,e palm tree, mango tree, neem tree, peepal tree, jamun tree etc. :) Planning to do in next few months.

Summary:

• Try out something new, whenever you have time.  It is fun to learn and fail or win.
  
• Spend time with nature, plants, trees etc. It de-stress yourself and gives more relief.

• Everything is POSSIBLE in the world, if we have positive ATTITUDE. :) 
  
• Worth reading about oxygen producing trees, in India. News is all about oxygen now.
