Mexico City - A visitor experience - Mirror exchanged with Gold ???
My dear social friends, brothers and sisters ...
Vanakkam, Namaste. Good day!.
Recently I had an opportunity to visit Mexico. This was my first visit to Mexico. In this blog, I am going to share my experience as a fist time visitor to this country. First of all, special THANKS to my colleagues who took care of our team really well. Kudos to them, and thankful for ever.
Starting from immigration: The queue was quite high, and it took more than 2+ hours for me to clear immigration. I was not surprised, since it takes similar time for us these days in US as well.
OK – all clear from immigration. Got into taxi, and heading towards the hotel… I started observing Mexico City, commute behaviors and traffic pattern. After few minutes, yes, it is very clear pattern. I could say, it is very similar to India. Not surprised too. :)
City is highly populated. My colleague and we started chatting about the city. Population is 25M. Oh, really?. Do you know, Delhi city population? 30M..... In the above pic, definitely I could see thick population, still it is highly maintained for the population level.
Look at above picture: Folks were commenting that, we will not see mountain in next few years, since it is full of houses now. Mountain houses?.. Not really. Mountain is being occupied by city due to population.
OK – houses in mountain – how
about the transport over there, basic water, sewage and electricity options
there?... Let us not under-estimate that. Yes, government has provided all the required services.
Cable Cars – This is quite famous here. Looks like this is one of the public transport options. When do we see this in India? - My colleagues were quoting that, this is heavily utilized and safer. Government is arranging few more new cable car lines. Good for environment.?...
We also visited few famous tourist spots. Very famous places: "Pyramid of Sun and Moon"...Got to know about the history more, nature more and Spanish background… Amazing natural views and cultural background here… Nature is definitely best here too. Mother nature, treats everyone at same level... :) Amazing Sunflowers..
While walking around these Pyramids, my colleague told me about this famous quote: Don’t try to sell mirrors to me... …. Here is the history: Looks like Gold was exchanged with Mirrors in the past.. huh… unbelievable, but that was the fact..
Data: However, the Spanish brought from distant lands some stuff never before seen by the Aztecs, they soon discover that the Aztecs were really impressed by the mirrors: they never seen before, were able to reflect the sun and reflected themselves, that stuff was a miracle! Thus, the Spanish took advantage of this situation and began to exchange little bits of mirror: Spanish get gold, Aztecs mirror; everyone was happy.
Next, we visited the tower of Mexico.. Very crowded, but maintained with high quality… On the top floor now.. Amazing view.. Please see the city view now…
I should definitely talk about the food. Mexico food is great. We were introduced to many dishes by our colleagues. Kudos to the Chefs, and stomach is full and safe. We were taken care by our colleagues really well for every food.
Alright! Hope you enjoy reading this.. :)
While we were there, new president is ready to sworn. New president, first woman president is in power. Definitely everyone is hard-working here and I could see budding talent. Everywhere Mexican flags this week... Watch out the economy…
I also took a snap of security guards from my hotel room, 40+ floors. Please see below two persons during new President's event, how they risk their life to secure national leaders.. Kudos to national security team and GOD bless you all.
Summary: Thanks to almighty for blessing me with
this visit. Of course, it was an official
visit, with very good customer and partner interactions, which is confidential. :)
Yes, I recommend everyone visiting this beautiful country, and I also recommend whoever visited the country do something similar to your home country, build similar hard and smart working force…
Mother earth, Daddy sky, siblings: air and water are nature’s gift to every human in this world.
Let us protect our nature and nurture the nature… Give respect and get respected. :)
See you all in the next blog.... Take care...
Nice 😀
