Summer Season... What are we doing differently? (Global Warming)
My dear social friends, brothers and sisters ...
Vanakkam, Namaste.
I
trust
everyone is doing well.. In India, we were at peak summer... Temperature was increasing day by day.. Everyone started talking about climate change these
days... Good to see the awareness. :)
But - what did we see in reality?
- We were seeing terrific number of advertisements and offers for AC, Fridge and Air Coolers.
- We were seeing huge number of advertisements for Ice creams and dairy products
- We were seeing huge discounts for loans (consumer electronics), micro-finance etc.
Yes, these are repeating year over year... Everyone is reporting growth on top of these, which is forcing the industry and everyone's pay check.
But, did that beat summer?. Did that decrease temperature? Did that help global warming?
If not, what are are doing differently?
1. Why not plant some trees during summer ? This is the toughest one, and maintaining/protecting trees are not easy at all during summer. This is for next generation.
2. Why not protect existing trees during summer? This is the tough time for trees. Watering big trees help.
3. Why not create some awareness and activities during summer, for reducing global warming, instead of just "surviving via ACs and ice creams"
When I was kid, we did see many big trees. For example: Banyan Tree, Indian Fig Tree (Athi maram), Neem Tree etc. Where are those?.
In the world of digital economy, we see big buildings, big news updates, but big trees are disappearing...
It is time to think differently. Could we do something to prevent big trees, campaign about the importance of these? It takes many years to grow a tree... It takes few decades to get a good shadow from a tree..
Farming gives happiness, farming rejuvenates you. Growing trees give patience, camping under a big tree brings more memories and healthy life...
Napping under a tree could provide a relaxing experience at day time, by connecting with nature, fresh air, and
natural sounds. An interesting article is here:
Thank you, Take care.
Nandri Vanakkam ! Dhanywad. !
