Albany to New York.... A memorable road trip and memorable moments at NYC

My dear social friends, brothers and sisters ...

Vanakkam, Namaste.

This blog is about my experience at "the city never sleeps" ....

we luv nyc

This was my 2nd short trip to Albany and NYC (New York City) in an official visit. Last time I was accompanied by few of my colleagues. But this time I am all alone, very confident and clear on my expectations.:).  Thanks to my colleagues, who helped in the first visit.

albany experience

I was at Albany, the capital city of NY State. This city is beautiful, lots of architectural buildings, very natural, clean and quiet.  After my scheduled meetings, I was supposed to go to NYC.  We had two options: 1. Flight from Albany to NYC. 2. Train journey from Albany to NYC.  I chose the 2nd option, since we followed the same during my first visit. It was a comfortable, a very scenic track, and we could work a lot during this time. :)

I came to know that, the trains from Albany to NYC got cancelled after I reached Albany, and I got only one day to choose. I decided to take BUS TRIP from Albany to NYC. It is around 4 hours bus trip. It was really memorable and funny. I changed my executive costume and was a normal passenger. :). The BUS TRIP was so fun, I was comparing bus trips in India, as I have done many bus trips from Bangalore to Chennai and Bangalore to south most part of India. Nevertheless, it was really memorable, noticed lots of discipline, safety measures and reached NYC very safe. Got into NYC traffic. :)

I was always wondering about NYC, how did the plan the city and it's current state.  The city is well-planned. The way, they have defined streets, avenues, and tracks are worth experiencing. We should really thank and salute the team behind this amazing architecture. Train tracks! Unbelievably connected and everything is well-thought. Last time, we used to take taxis or app rides, but this time I started walking and enjoyed the same.

This time I noticed various things. So many talented people making shows on the streets, so many snack shops, so many fast-food vehicles, 99 cent pizza shops etc. Also, not to underestimate all top-brand showrooms of course.  Grass is always green on the other side... I also noticed few more stuffs like, people are struggling to get food, homeless people etc. I was carefully noticing a scenario where police were dealing with one homeless person.

NYPD – New York Police Department: They are awesome. If a person can walk safely at any time means, you could imagine the hard work behind this department. Unbelievable safety here. Kudos to this department.

High raise buildings and billboards.  Worth experiencing for sure, but I am not sure whether you would live there for longer period...  I was wondering, how do we live here?  Always busy!. I have lived in Bangalore and visited Mumbai and Delhi many times. I could easily compare that life. Living in a small apartment, high raise buildings, high traffic etc.  But, if everyone leaves from here, what will happen here, who will come here?, what will happen to capital city, what will happen to all the existing financial, entertainment setup....

City life is good for someone who is starting their life, restarting their life, working with big financial, government or other corporate head quarters... Also, it is good for young couples.

I would recommend everyone visiting NYC for sure, and experience man made miracles here. I wish, we keep working towards humanity with nature, rather than going against nature and the almighty....

OK, everyone... we will catch up in the next one....
