Year end @ Isha Yoga Center, India.
My dear social friends, brothers and sisters ...
Vanakkam, Namaste. Good day!.
In this blog, I am going to share my recent India visit experience, particularly about Isha Yoga Center. I visited Isha Yoga Center in Tamilnadu, stayed there for few days and experienced the same.
Below picture - this was from my first trip there, in 2021 after covid breakout.
During that time (2021), it was very quiet, very less people and I had an opportunity to explore the place in all details. Below is another example pic. Now a days, i will challenge you to get similar picture without anyone in background. :), unless you are VVIP.. :)..
OK, let us come to the point... What is the specialty here?
I used to walk from Adi Yogi statue to all the way to villas where we stayed. Please note that, you walk before the center is open for public. I also noticed that many folks walk in bare-foot across many places. First, I hesitated, but seeing the cleanliness of this place, I decided to walk with bare foot across many places and felt the difference.
Please see few scenic view and big trees that are well maintained..
Breakfast and Dinner... :) - Free food.. :)
I wanted to call out this for sure. Yoga center provides two times free meal over there. Breakfast around 10 am in the morning and dinner around 7 pm in the evening. I was amazed by the varieties given there, focused on every part of health. It is freshly made and not preserved at all. I heard that it is consumed/served within few hours and remaining are donated. Lots of fresh vegetables, fruits and other nutrition food. Volunteers do amazing job there. Kudos to everyone there.
OK, why did he build this yoga center ?. Did he accomplish his vision?
Hats off to his hard-work, vision and execution. From no-man land to this level, i.e. created so much employment and business opportunities to local, tourism growth in Coimbatore, iconic place for yoga practitioners, mind blowing mediation options and peaceful ambience.
His volunteering team plays a biggest role here. Looks like this is the secret sauce here. Volunteers do not just do the work; they just make it. They don’t get paid, not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless. I saw the way they put their heart to work.
I have seen traditional ashrams, but this one is modern considering current population and age.
An iconic event, "Maha Sivarathiri"...
I have been amazed by “Maha-Shivaratri” event organized by his team. They were talking about this...I know, we all host tech events, conferences, but the scale at which this is conducted, is unbelievable. Kudos to the organizers. They do have both in-person and live telecasting. I wish my good luck for their upcoming event sometime this month. Maha-sivarathiri got lots of awareness from this event.
OK, what's next?
Looks like Isha Yoga Centers are coming up in Bangalore and North India and one in USA: Tennessee.
In summary, what i experienced there....
- A peaceful stay for few days
- Be with nature and walk barefoot
- Rejuvenate your body and know few breathing basics
- No internet, no calls, no TV. :)
- Humanity
- Patience and appreciations - value of relationship
- Finally, value of volunteering and willingness to volunteer
See you all in the next blog.... Take care... Nandri...
