Mango flowers are back.... Getting ready for summer...

I trust everyone is doing well..  February month is almost getting over, and it is busy as usual. Mahashivarathiri is over.  i.e. We are getting ready for summer....

In this blog, I will share our current state of Mango trees from farm. :) . Please see below pic with mango flowers.

When it comes to summer, we always think about two fruits: 1. Water Melon 2. Mango.  Please check out my previous blog about summer.

In our farm, we are ready to welcome the KING of fruits... :)  You could see the flowers from trees. Most of the trees are full of flowers at this point.


 

When I walk around the trees, I could easily smell the flowers and hear sounds of bees. We pray the almighty and weather GOD to make sure that these flowers yield fruits. 

If the weather is bad, i.e. during this time if we get excess mist or fog, these flowers turn black and dry. Sometimes we get unexpected rain fall, that is OK, flowers do sustain. However ,excess mist and fog cause too much damage to the trees and flowers. 



One could feel the happiness when you walk around the tree with full of flowers. I am sure that you will feel the same if you have one tree at home. It could be either mange tree or jack fruit tree or whatever trees. 

Happiness is guaranteed at this time. However, extra happiness is guaranteed when you see the tree with fruits. :)

What I like the most about is, please see below picture. You will see the leaves in different color this time. They look very fresh, yellow-greenish, very energetic and produces good smell. I always pick few and chew.. :)

Palm Trees Progress - Two leaves in two years.... (Panai Maram and Karupatti Kaapi)

My dear social friends, brothers and sisters ...  Vanakkam, Namaste and good day!. Last month , I visited India and I will share the latest progress and latest experiences from farm. This blog is about palm trees. Two years back, I planted around 100 palm trees. The interesting fact is that, after two years of planting and waiting, I see now two leaves. :). Not all trees survived, but many survived our last year drought. It took two years, to see some visible progress as see you below. Many trees still have just one leave as you see below. Palm Trees take longer time to grow. An average growth rate is: 3 to 10 inches per year. What does it mean: This plantation is for next generation.
